Privacy Policy
Last updated 22 October 2026
Packaging Solutions & Systems (“PSS”, “we”) designs and builds
custom returnable packaging. This policy explains what we collect through this website, why,
and what we do with it. We have tried to keep it short and plain.
3D part files you load into the PSS Packaging Studio are not uploaded to us and are
not stored. They are read and displayed inside your own web browser. Your part
geometry does not leave your computer unless you choose to send it to us separately, for
example by attaching it to an email or to the project request form.
What we collect
- Details you type into the project request form — your name,
company, email address, telephone number, and the project information you provide such as
program, part name and number, sizes, quantities and target dates.
- Files you deliberately attach to that form.
- Account details, if you create an account to save concepts — your
email address and the concepts you choose to save.
- Quote requests from the Studio — if you use Get a quote on this rack,
the name, company, email address, telephone number (optional), quantity, destination ZIP code and
notes you type, together with the design on screen: its Studio settings, part names or file names,
and each part's overall dimensions. Your 3D file is not sent. A view-only link to that design is
stored with the request so PSS can open it. To stop repeated automated requests we keep a
scrambled, one-way (hashed) form of your IP address with the request, never the address itself.
- Shared designs — if you share a saved concept, we store a copy of its settings,
part names and overall part dimensions so that anyone you give the link to can view it. Part shapes
appear as boxes, because your 3D files never reach us. You can turn a link off at any time.
- Basic usage data so we can see which parts of the site are used. This is
not used to build advertising profiles and we do not sell it.
- Studio Chatbot conversations, if you use the chat assistant in the PSS
Packaging Studio — see The Studio Chatbot below.
Why we use it
- To answer your enquiry and prepare a quotation.
- To design, build and support packaging for you.
- To keep saved concepts available in your account.
- To keep the site working and improve it.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for advertising.
The Studio Chatbot
The PSS Packaging Studio has an optional chat assistant, the Studio Chatbot, that can set up a
packaging concept for you. If you use it:
- We store the conversation. Every message you type, every reply, and the
Studio settings the chat produced (for example the part size, packaging type and parts per
rack) are saved so we can see how the Studio is used and improve it. PSS staff can read these
conversations.
- Email addresses and phone numbers are removed automatically before a message
is answered or stored. Everything else is kept as you typed it, so please do not type
confidential program details, part numbers or customer names into the chat. Use Request PSS
review for those instead.
- Leaving your email for a follow-up. The chat may offer a short form asking
whether you would like PSS to look at your design. If you fill it in, your email (and your name
and company, if you add them) is stored with our project requests, together with a link to the
conversation and the Studio settings, so PSS can follow up with you. It never becomes part of
the conversation and is never sent to the AI model.
- The chat never receives your 3D files. It sees only the overall dimensions of
your part, which the Studio works out on your own computer.
- Replies are written by an AI model. Your chat messages and the Studio settings
are sent to Anthropic, which runs the model, to produce each reply. Anthropic processes them on
our behalf, does not use them to train its models, and keeps them only for a limited period
under its commercial terms.
- Daily limits. To keep the chat available to everyone, each visitor can send a
limited number of messages per day. To count them we keep a random identifier in your browser
and a scrambled, one-way (hashed) form of your IP address. We never store your IP address
itself. If you are signed in, the count uses your account instead, and the conversation is
linked to your account.
- How long we keep it. Chat conversations are deleted after 12 months. Ask us
and we will delete yours sooner. If you were not signed in, tell us roughly when you chatted
and what about, since we hold no name or email to find it by unless you left one in the
follow-up form.
Your project information is treated as confidential
Drawings, BOMs, part data and program details you send us are treated as confidential
business information. We use them only to respond to you and to work on your project, and we
share them only with the suppliers who need them to quote or build your packaging — for
example a fabricator or a dunnage supplier. If you need a signed non-disclosure agreement in
place first, tell us and we will sign one before you send anything.
Who else is involved
We use a small number of service providers to run this site:
- Netlify — hosts the website and receives project request form
submissions.
- Supabase — stores accounts, saved concepts, project requests, site usage
data and Studio Chatbot conversations.
- Anthropic — runs the AI model that writes the Studio Chatbot's replies.
- Microsoft 365 — our email.
These providers process the information on our behalf. We do not give them permission to use
it for their own purposes.
How long we keep it
Enquiries and project correspondence are kept for as long as we have a business relationship
with you, and afterwards for as long as we need them for tax, warranty and record-keeping
purposes. Saved concepts are kept until you delete them or ask us to close your account.
Studio Chatbot conversations are kept for 12 months.
Your choices
You can ask us to give you a copy of what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. You
can ask us to stop contacting you at any time and we will. If you are in the United Kingdom or
the European Economic Area, you also have the rights given to you under the UK GDPR and the EU
GDPR, including the right to object to processing and the right to complain to your local data
protection authority.
Where we contact you about our products and services, or respond to an enquiry you started,
we do so on the basis of our legitimate interest in running our business and in answering you.
We keep chat conversations on the basis of our legitimate interest in improving the Studio.
Where you create an account, we process your details to provide the service you asked for.
To exercise any of this, email Connor@PSSrack.com.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Saved concepts are restricted so that only the account that
created them can read them, except a copy you choose to share, which anyone holding its link can open
until you turn the link off. No system is perfect, but we take reasonable steps to protect what
you send us.
Children
This is a business-to-business site and is not intended for children.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
